
Braves take game one from Biscuits, 4-2

Montgomery took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Elliot Johnson doubled and scored and Reid Brignac tripled and scored to start off the game. Onil Joseph's two-run single in the bottom of the second tied the game at two.
The Braves took a 3-2 lead in the fourth after Ray Serrano doubled to right and Johnny Raburn misplayed the ball alloweing Serrano to move to third. Mike Rozema's sacrifice fly to right brought Serrano to the plate with the go-ahead run.
Mississippi pushed its lead to 4-2 in the eighth when Serrano ripped his third double of the game to right bringing Ivan Terrazas to the plate with the Braves fourth run.
Sean White (7.0 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K) gave up two hits in the first innings, then threw six shutout innings and left the game with a 3-2 lead. White improved to 5-6 on the year. Arthur Santos (1.0 IP) threw one scoreless inning. Zach Schreiber (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 BB) threw a scoreless ninth to record his 20th save of the season.
Biscuits' starter Tony Peguero (7.0 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 4 K) gave up three unearned runs and fell to 10-12 on the year. Marcos Carvajal (1.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 K) gave up a run on two hits in one inning of work.
The Braves play game-two of this five-game set against the Montgomery Biscuits, the AA Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays tomorrow night at Trustmark Park at 7:05. The Braves are scheduled to send RHP Daniel Curtis (2-5, 4.56) to the hill, while the Biscuits are scheduled to counter with RHP Jeff Niemann (5-5, 2.88 ERA). The Braves On Deck Circle powered by Nextel gets everything started off at 6:05pm.
