Tonight, the first place Erie SeaWolves look to win their fifth straight game as they host the Akron RubberDucks in the middle game of a three-game series at UPMC Park. Last night, the SeaWolves collected their eighth straight win over the Ducks with a 5-1 victory in the series opener...Last night's win, coupled with a Bowie win, kept the SeaWolves advantage in the Western Division at two games. Both Erie and Bowie have 17 games remaining including tonight...Righty Casey Mize takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 15th start and second against Akron. Mize beat the Ducks on May 31 firing six scoreless. Mize took his third straight loss in his last start at New Hampshire on August 11 allowing six runs (T-Season high) on eight hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 4.2 innings...Righty Kyle Dowdy takes the mound for Akron making his fourth appearance and first start. Dowdy appeared in relief on August 10 at Portland and allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 3.2 innings. He was returned to the Indians from the Texas Rangers on July 28. Dowdy, the Tigers 12th round selection in 2015, made his MLB debut with the Rangers on March 28. He pitched 13 games and made one start going 2-1 with a 7.25 ERA with Texas.
