Tonight, the SeaWolves open a three-game series against the Akron RubberDucks (Cleveland Indians) at Canal Park. Last night, the SeaWolves fell behind 2-0 in the
second inning and never rebounded. Erie cut it to a one-run game in the fourth inning, however, the Baysox put up four in the eighth to put the game out of reach. The loss dropped the SeaWolves back to their low-water mark of 12-games below .500... Right-hander Warwick Saupold takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his ninth appearance and eight start. Saupold was briefly moved to the bullpen for an appearance but is now back in the rotation. Tonight is his second appearance against the Ducks. Saupold earned his lone win on May 12 against Akron allowing two runs on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts in five innings. Saupold last appeared in relief on May 24 against Trenton. In the game, he allowed two runs on five hits with three walks and a season-high seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Erie lost the game 4-0. RHP Mike Clevinger takes the mound for the Ducks making his 10th start and second against the SeaWolves. Clevinger took a no-decision against Erie on May 13 allowing three runs on five hits in six innings. Clevinger earned a win in his last start against Binghamton. He allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings of work. In five home starts, Clevinger is 0-2 with a 2.86 ERA.
