Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators were shutout by the Erie SeaWolves 6-0 Friday night at FNB Field. Erie plated two runs in the fifth inning then four more in the eighth to break the game open. Harrisburg couldn't break through against four Erie hurlers. The SeaWolves have taken three of the first four games of the series.
The Big Play
With one out and the bases loaded for Erie, Luis Santana hit a double play ground ball to short stop Leonel Valera. He tossed to second base for one, but the return throw was wide to first. Instead of an inning ending double play, Erie plated two runs.
On Capitol Hill
Alemao Hernandez went five innings and allowed two runs, one earned on five hits. He tossed two double play ground balls.
Malvin Pena tossed two scoreless innings.
Evan Lee faced four batters, walked two and hit one in the eighth inning.
Orlando Ribalta inherited a bases-loaded one out situation and gave a two-run double and two-run single.
Joel Peguero pitched a perfect ninth inning.
With the Gavel
Robert Hassell III and Leonel Valera both had two hits in the game.
Filibusters
The game drew 8,075, the third largest crowd in Senators history... Trey Harris went 0-for-4 and had his 17-game on base streak snapped... The Senators committed their first error since last Thursday against Bowie... The Senators pitching staff has walked 17 batters the last two games combined.
