Eric Yang's 420-Foot HR Propels Choo Choos to Victory

Eric Yang belted a home run over the Choo-Choos video board to give them a 2-0 lead en route to a 3-1 win over the Birmingham Black Barons.

Tonight's game started out as a pitcher's duel. Choo-Choos' pitcher Christian Roa fired six scoreless frames with seven strikeouts. On the other side, Black Barons starter Chase Solesky had a no-hitter through 4.2 innings until Francisco Urbaez broke it up with a single.

In the sixth inning, Michael Trautwein hit a double to right field to lead off the inning. After a Jose Torres strikeout, Eric Yang crushed his first home run of the season to break up the shutout.

After Roa exited the game, Andy Fisher picked up where he left off, only allowing one hit in two innings. In the eighth Blake Dunn singled home Rece Hinds for their third run.

Birmingham added one run in the ninth, but Ryan Meisinger got out of trouble to earn his fifth save of the year.

Tomorrow is the final game of the series against Birmingham. The game is set for 2:15 p.m. with gates opening at 1:00 p.m.
