BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox and the Oriole Advocates will collect new and used sports equipment at Baysox game this Sunday against the Reading Phillies at 6:05 p.m. The equipment will be donated to the Oriole Advocates Cardboard to Leather program and will be distributed to underprivileged kids in developing countries. In the past, donations have been sent to: Venezuela, Afghanistan, Aruba, Belgrade, Belize, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua. The Cardboard To Leather program accepts donations of all baseball equipment: bats, balls, gloves, uniforms, bags and spikes. Baseball gloves, duffle bags and useable helmets are the HARDEST things for Cardboard to Leather to acquire.
