Energy Release 2011-12 Schedule

DES MOINES, IA, Aug. 29, 2011- The 2011 NBA D-League Champion Iowa Energy released their 2011-12 schedule today, with a team record 19 of their 24 home games on the weekend.

For the 5th consecutive season, the Energy will open their season on the road as they travel to Canton, Ohio on Friday, November 25th. The Energy will open the home schedule on Saturday, December 3rd as they place host to the Erie BayHawks. The team will host a "Championship Celebration" that night, including the raising of the championship banner as well as ring presentations.

A rematch of the 2011 NBA D-League Finals will take place early in the year, as the Energy will travel to Hildalgo, TX on November 30th and December 1st for a two game series with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Former Energy Assistant Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren will return to Des Moines as head coach of the Dakota Wizards four times, and the Energy will take on conference rival Sioux Falls eight times (four home, four away) on the schedule.

The final regular season game of the year is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th as the Energy host the Los Angeles D-Fenders, who are returning to the league after a one year hiatus.

The NBA D-League Showcase will once again be played this season and take place in mid-January. An announcement with specific details on the event will be announced at a later date. In addition to the NBA D-League Showcase, the NBA D-League All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Orlando.
