
Armor Announce 2011-12 Schedule

SPRINGFIELD, MA - The Springfield Armor announced today that their 3rd season will tip off on Friday, Nov. 25th against the Maine Red Claws at 7:00 p.m. at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
The Armor will prepare for a 50-game schedule that features 24 home games at the MassMutual Center. The Armor will also play 24 road games and two games at the NBA Development League Showcase.
"We're thrilled to be gearing up for our third season in Springfield," Armor General Manager Alex Schwerin said. "We're very much looking forward to another terrific season of providing affordable family entertainment and great basketball to the people of the Pioneer Valley."
The Armor will play 11 of their 24 home games on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as an additional 10 games on Thursday evenings. The Armor will face a total of 10 different opponents at the MassMutual Center this season, including a first-time visit from the Texas Legends and five games against the rival Red Claws.
The Armor draw the defending NBA D-League champion Iowa Energy three times at home, as well as home matchups against the Bakersfield Jam, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Idaho Stampede, Reno Bighorns and Sioux Falls Skyforce. The Armor will also host the new NBA D-League Canton (OH) franchise twice at the MassMutual Center this season. The yet-to-be-named Canton franchise was purchased by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the off-season and relocated from Rio Rancho, NM.
The NBA D-League Showcase will once again be played this season and will take place in mid-January. An announcement with specific details on the event will be revealed at a later date. In addition to the NBA D-League Showcase, the NBA D-League All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Orlando.
For the third consecutive season, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West. The Armor are joined in the Eastern Conference by the new NBA D-League Canton franchise, Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws and Sioux Falls Skyforce. The Western Conference includes the Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Idaho Stampede, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends and Tulsa 66ers.
