
Energy fall short to Bayhawks 125-115

DES MOINES, Iowa, February 11, 2009- Player of the Game Courtney Sims scored 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, but the Iowa Energy were defeated by the Erie BayHawks 125-115 Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The Energy continue to lead the NBA D-League Central Division with a record of 17-8.
Sims converted a 13-of-17 field goal attempts, with Curtis Stinson recording a double-double recording 15 points and 14 assists.
The BayHawks led 36-24 after the first half and the Energy was never able to regain a lead. With 35 seconds left in the game, the Energy pulled within in two of the BayHawks, but a short run by Erie secured a victory. Demetris Nichols (23 points), Anthony Tolliver (19 points), and Othyus Jeffers (11 points) all chipped in double-digits for the Energy squad.
Erie was lead by Maureece Rice with (28 points) and Erik Daniels (24 points). Also scoring in double-figures were Cliff Clinkscales (19 points), Darian Townes (16 points), Ivan Harris (14 points), and Tony Bethel (12 points).
The Energy will host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as part of a President's Day matinee on Monday, February 16th at Wells Fargo Arena. Tip off is set for 12 p.m.
