DES MOINES, IA. Apr. 11, 2012- The 2011 NBA D-League Champion Iowa Energy fell behind 33-10 in the 1st quarter and couldn't overcome a 52.6% shooting night from the L.A. D-Fenders as they fell 114-103 in game one of the 2012 playoffs.

After the slow start, the Energy chipped away at the D-Fenders' lead throughout the night, and trailed by a 99-91 margin with 4:53 to play in the game. With momentum seemingly on Iowa's side, L.A.'s Jamario Moon ended Iowa's hope as he scored four straight points to give the D-Fenders a 104-91 cushion that was too much for the home team to overcome.

Center Ben Strong had a career night for the Energy, registering 27 points and 13 rebounds while Moses Ehambe added 22 points.

Moon led the D-Fenders with 25 points while Malcolm Thomas notched 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Game two of the best-of-three series is Saturday in Los Angeles. Game three, if necessary, would also be in Los Angeles. That game would take place on Monday night.

Despite losing the game, the Energy outscored the D-Fenders in each of the final three quarters.
