The Waterloo Bucks (18-50, 8-25) rode a 6-6 day at the plate by Myles Emmerson and 7.0 shutout frames from Ryan Lane to steamroll the Thunder Bay Border Cats (22-46, 9-23) 16-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
To go with Emmerson's (6-6, 2B, 3 R, 4 RBI) big day, Angelo Altavilla (4-6, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 4 R), Ethan Ibarra (4-5, R, BB, 2 RBI), and Trey Leonard (4-4, R, HR, 2 BB, 4 RBI) each produced four hit days. Brendan Hueth (2-5, 2B, BB, 3 R) chipped in with a multi-hit game.
Lane (7.0 ip, 3 H, 2 BB, HBP, 8 K) was dominant throughout the day, inducing 10 whiffs on 88 pitches.
The Bucks open a 2-game series with the Duluth Huskies on Thursday night at 6:35 p.m.
