
Elmira's McPherson Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Allan McPherson of the Elmira Jackals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 1-7.
McPherson scored four goals, added an assist and was a +5 in two games last week.
The 24-year-old scored a goal in a 4-2 loss at Manchester on Saturday and talled four points (3g-1a) in a 5-4 win against the Monarchs on?Sunday.
A native of Kinburn, Ontario, McPherson has 27 points (14g-13a) in 23 games with the?Jackals this season while adding one goal in 15 games with Rochester of the American?Hockey League.
Under an AHL?contract with the Americans, McPherson has recorded 50 points (22g-28a) in 47 career ECHL games with Elmira and 10 points (4g-6a) in 64 career AHL games with Rochester and Abbotsford.
Prior to turning pro, McPherson played four seasons at Clarkson University where he had 103 points (41g-62a) in 150 career games.
On behalf of Allan McPherson, a case of pucks will be donated to an?Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 33,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
