Elmira Jackals News Release

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they will host a Booster Club Meeting to help encourage new membership in their support group.

The Elmira Jackals Booster Club has been an integral part of the Jackals landscape for the last seven years. However, declining numbers have left it as a shell of its former self. As the Jackals approach their first season in the ECHL, they are looking to rekindle what was once a great hockey fan institution in Elmira.

The Booster Club meeting at First Arena is scheduled for Monday, August 27th at 7:00 pm. The Jackals encourage all interested fans and prospective Booster Club Members to come meet new Head Coach Steve Martinson and recently signed forwards Frank Littlejohn and Bruce Watson.

"We are looking to rebuild the Booster Club Membership back to where it was several years ago," said General Manager Robbie S. Nichols. "The Booster Club has always played such a vital role in the Jackals operations each season and we are hoping to help bolster it again this year as we being our exciting journey in the ECHL."

Some of the many benefits of being a member of the Elmira Jackals Booster Club include: an Exclusive "Meet The Jackals" Pre-Season Party; Monthly meetings featuring players and staff; an invitation to the Jackals Christmas Party and a Season-Ending Party; Various Road Trips and a whole lot more.

Amidst another busy off-season, the Jackals are currently preparing for the 2007-2008 season, their inaugural campaign in the ECHL and their 8th season of operations beginning on October 19, 2007 at First Arena against the Wheeling Nailers.

Season tickets for the 2007-2008 Elmira Jackals ECHL season are currently on sale at the First Arena Box Office. For more information please call the First Arena & Elmira Jackals at 607-734-PUCK.
