Victoria, BC - The Salmon Kings and Bakersfield Condors met for the second time this season and the first at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Julien Ellis started in net for the Salmon Kings while Yutaka Fukufuji got the call for Bakersfield.
The Salmon Kings and Condors played discipline defensive hockey through the first 40 minutes of the game with neither team allowing a goal. Bakersfield had fired 20 shots at Ellis while the Kings had countered with 19 of their own on Fukufuji through the first two frames.
The Salmon Kings came out and took control in the third period, and were rewarded when Matt Kelly poked in the puck during a goalmouth scramble to put Victoria up 1-0. Victoria would continue to put on the pressure, but Fukufuji kicked out all offerings as the Victoria held a 15-1 shot advantage at one point in the third period. Shaun Landolt would add an empty net goal with one minute remaining in the game. Salmon Kings 2 Condors 0.
Victoria finished 0/5=0% on the power play, while Bakersfield finished 0/4=0%. Final shots were 37-24 for the Salmon Kings.
