El Paso Takes Down Round Rock, 9-1

El Paso starter Daniel Camarena allowed only one run in five innings Friday in the Chihuahuas' 9-1 win over the Round Rock Express. The teams have split the first four games of the six-game series.

Chihuahuas right fielder Oscar Mercado went 1-for-5 with an RBI single to extend his hitting streak to 13 games, which is the longest by an El Paso player this season. El Paso center fielder Bryce Johnson went 4-for-5 with a triple, setting his new season high for hits in a game. Chihuahuas designated hitter Cal Mitchell went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

The Chihuahuas hit four triples to set a new season high. El Paso has scored in the first inning in four of the last seven games. Nick Hernandez pitched two scoreless relief innings for El Paso and has allowed only one earned run in his last 14 appearances.
