El Paso Locomotive Hosts Hartford Athletic for First Meeting

EL PASO, Texas - El Paso Locomotive FC (6-6-2, 20 pts., West-5) welcomes Hartford Athletic (2-7-1, 7 pts., East-12) from the Eastern Conference to Southwest University Park on Saturday, June 4. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. MT with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. MT. Tickets are available for purchase online at eplocomotivefc.com/tickets or by calling 915-235-GOAL.

Locomotive kicks off Pride Month with Pride Night at Southwest University Park! Saturday night's match will be highlighted with a post-match firework show to light up the night sky for fans in attendance. Locomotive will have pride themed merch available for purchase with proceeds benefiting local LGBTQ+ communities. Additionally, the night will be preceded with the national anthem sung by young sensation Emma Malea, who went viral following her performance ahead of an LA Galaxy game in 2018. The match ball will be presented by Mexico National Team legend, Alberto García.

Saturday night will be the first time in franchise history that Locomotive and Hartford see each other on the pitch. Both teams had a similar start to the 2022 season, however, El Paso Locomotive has been able to recover while Hartford is still stuck at the gates. Locomotive has vaulted from sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference to fifth, only four points behind Switchbacks FC in second. Locos have earned a result in four of their last five matches, most recently earning a hard-fought 1-0 win over Las Vegas Lights FC while down a man.

Meanwhile, Hartford Athletic has struggled on the field, picking up its first two wins of the season within its last three games. Those two wins came on their home field in Connecticut. The Eastern Conference team has yet to earn a win this season away from home. Hartford has not had a great record against Western Conference teams, earning a 1-2-1 record after four inter-conference matches. In contrast, Locomotive has found success against Eastern Conference clubs, earning a record of 5-1-1. As the battle of East vs West continues in the 2022 season, Hartford Athletic will have a high hill to climb to surmount El Paso Locomotive FC.
