Eight Run 2nd Inning Dooms 'Sharks

The Lancaster Barnstormers scored eight runs in the second inning and went on to defeat the Camden Riversharks by the final count of 11-6. With the loss, Camden falls out of first place and now sits in third place behind Long Island and Bridgeport.

Cesar Carrillo (3-8) picked up the victory allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings of work.

Eddy Camacho (5-2) took the loss surrendering eight runs (one earned) in just 1.2 innings, his shortest outing of the season.

Camden struck first with two runs in the opening inning after a fifty-five minute rain delay. Pedro Feliz hit a two-run home run, his 11th of the season, to give the 'Sharks a 2-0 lead. Feliz now has a 12-game hitting streak.

Aaron Herr brought the Barnstormers back within a run in the bottom of the 1st with an RBI single that scored Gilberto Mejia.

Lancaster broke it open in the 2nd inning with eight runs against Eddy Camacho. Camden committed three errors in the frame as Lancaster sent twelve batters to the plate and took a 9-2 lead in the process. The Barnstormers also had five hits in the inning highlighted by a two-run double from Wayne Lydon.

The Riversharks fought back with three runs in the top of the 5th to cut the deficit to 9-5. Brian Burgamy hit a two-run single off the right field wall and two batters later Alvin Colina drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Wayne Lydon hit his first home run in a Barnstormers uniform in the 6th inning, a solo shot off Mike Koplove, to extend the lead to 10-5.
