Forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel with the Gwinnett Gladiators

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL Affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced today that the club has signed forward Casey Pierro-Zabotel to a contract for the upcoming ECHL season.
Pierro-Zabotel led the Gwinnett Gladiators in scoring last season with 60 points in 54 games. He also skated in five games with the Florida Everblades, and three in the American League with Norfolk.
"Pierro-Zabotel is a top all-around center," said Allen Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson. "He's good at faceoffs and makes us very deep and experienced up the middle."
The native of Ashcroft, BC, played in the Western Hockey League for two seasons with the Vancouver Giants, where he scored 55 goals and added 108 assists for 163 points. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round, 80th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Americans begin their seventh season of professional hockey on October 16th, opening night, when the team will raise their third straight championship banner to the rafters, and their first as ECHL Champs.
