Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced today the All-ECHL First and Second Teams, with the Americans having three players named to the First Team. Goalie Riley Gill, Defenseman David Makowski and Forward Chad Costello were all selected to the First Team roster, along with former Americans, Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Matt Register.
Riley Gill leads the ECHL in shutouts with 7, and is tied for second in the league with 31 wins. Gill has won three Kelly Cup Championships and remains the winningest postseason goalie in ECHL history. The native of Minnesota is in his third season with the Americans.
David Makowski is in his second season with the Americans. He has 49 points in 40 games with Allen, including a team-high 15-game point streak this season. The St. Louis, Missouri native is among the league leaders in points-per-game by a defenseman at 1.23. He's tied for third in power play goals by a defenseman, with 7.
Chad Costello is in his third season with the Americans, having won the ECHL scoring title the last two seasons in a row, with the looks of making it three straight. Costello has 118 points, thirty ahead of his former teammate Casey Pierro-Zabotel, who is second in scoring with 88 points. The Johnston, Iowa native won the ECHL regular season and postseason Most Valuable Player awards last year.
