Columbus Crew SC News Release
1. Sporting Kansas City -- 11 pts. | 4-0 Win vs. Montreal Impact, Week Eight: at New England Revolution
Sporting took care of a struggling Montreal side at home with a 4-0 win courtesy of a Dom Dwyer brace to move atop the East. Kansas City travels to New England this week to face the Revolution.
2. Columbus Crew -- 11 pts. | 1-1 Draw vs. D.C. United, Week Eight: vs. New York Red Bulls
It took extra hustle and a pinpoint pass from Wil Trapp and a flawless finish from Hector Jimenez in the 90th minute to help the 10-man Crew to a point against D.C. United to stay tied on points with Sporting Kansas City. The Black & Gold close-out a two-match homestand on Saturday against the New York Red Bulls (TICKETS).
3. Toronto FC -- 9 pts. | 2-1 Loss at FC Dallas, Week Eight: Bye
Michael Bradley returned to the Reds' lineup on the road against FC Dallas, but it wasn't enough as the home side prevailed with a 2-1 victory. Toronto FC has a bye this week, allowing leading scorer Jermain Defoe extra time to recover from a hamstring injury.
4. D.C. United -- 8 pts. | 1-1 Draw at Columbus Crew, Week Eight: vs. FC Dallas
United strung together a few nice counterattacks on the road against the Crew and would've earned three points if not for the Black & Gold's late heroics. D.C. returns home this week against FC Dallas riding a four-match unbeaten streak.
5. New England Revolution -- 8 pts. | 1-1 Draw at Chicago Fire, Week Eight: vs. Sporting Kansas City
A late penalty save from Bobby Shuttleworth helped the Revs to a point on the road against Chicago in Week Seven. The Revolution hosts Sporting Kansas City this week.
6. Philadelphia Union -- 8 pts. | 2-1 Loss at New York Red Bulls / 0-0 Draw vs. Houston Dynamo, Week Eight at Montreal Impact
