EARTHQUAKES NOTES

Earthquakes Announce Supporter Section Changes for 2018 Season

The San Jose Earthquakes announced changes to the team's supporters section for the 2018 season. The San Jose Ultras will move to field level and occupy the standing-only section known as the Supporters Terrace behind the south goal, moving the passionate fans to a more central location in the stadium. Fewer than 100 Season Passes are still available in the Supporters Terrace and are priced at $400. The Ultras' previous sections, 117 and 118, will now be reserved seating instead of general admission. Season Passes in these two sections, located in the heart of the passion just above the Ultras, are available for $400, the lowest price for reserved seats in the stadium. Existing Supporters Terrace accounts can either remain there with the Ultras, relocate to 117/118, or relocate to any other designated seating option in the stadium, based on availability. Existing Season Pass holders in 117/118 will be relocated to the Supporters Terrace, unless interest is expressed in relocating elsewhere.

Earthquakes, Simon Dawkins Mutually Part Ways

The San Jose Earthquakes announced that the club and midfielder Simon Dawkins have mutually agreed to part ways. The Earthquakes will exercise their one offseason Buyout of a Guaranteed Contract on the Designated Player and he will be placed on waivers. Dawkins, 30, made 43 appearances (35 starts) for the Quakes since signing as a Designated Player in 2016, scoring five goals and providing two assists. He previously spent time on loan with the Quakes during the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

Earthquakes to Face Club Leon, Landon Donovan on Saturday, March 24

San Jose Earthquakes will face Liga MX's Club Leon at Avaya Stadium on Saturday, March 24 at 7:15 p.m. in an international friendly. The match will mark Landon Donovan's first time playing in the U.S. after signing with Club Leon in January of this year. Donovan played for the Quakes from 2001-04, helping San Jose win the 2001 and 2003 MLS Cups. The match will serve as Bonus Game A for Quakes Season Pass Holders and is included in their ticketing package. Season pass holders can now purchase additional tickets as part of an exclusive presale. Fans interested in becoming a Quakes Season Pass Holder and taking advantage of presales like this one and other perks can sign up here for more information. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. and are available at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. Individual ticket prices start at $25, with special rates available for groups of 10 or more. Group tickets can be purchased by calling the Earthquakes Front Office at 408-556-7700.

Earthquakes Unveil Navy SEAL Foundation Jersey

The San Jose Earthquakes and adidas unveiled the club's Navy SEAL Foundation Jersey, featuring a sleek white design with blue and gray trim. A portion of proceeds from jersey sales at the Quakes Team Store, powered by Gyft, will benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation. The Quakes are the first team in Major League Soccer history to have a portion of their jersey revenue benefit a nonprofit. The Quakes unveiled the jersey in dramatic fashion at the unveil event at Hornet Field in Alameda, Calif. Pulling along the side of the Bay in a military rescue boat, retired Navy SEAL Dan O'Toole jumped out of the moving vessel and swam to shore. Upon reaching dry land and stepping on the stage in front of 1,000 fans, he removed his wetsuit top to give the public their first glimpse of the new kit.
