Misc. Notes

Wondo Wins NASR Player of the Month for October

San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski was named NASR Player of the Month for October on Monday. The local product scored five goals in October, more than any other player in MLS, to tie D.C. United's Dwayne De Rosario for the league lead with 16 apiece. He scored in each of San Jose's four games during the final month of play. Wondo took 14 of 18 first-place votes and was the No. 2 choice on the remaining four ballots in a poll by North American Soccer Reporters. Fredy Montero of Sounders FC came in second with three votes and Chicago Fire's Marco Pappa was the only other player to receive any first preference votes. Wondolowski is tied with Edson Buddle and De Rosario atop the all-time goals list for the month of October with 11. Last year, Wondo scored six in the final month en route to his first career Budweiser Golden Boot.

Earthquakes at San Jose's Christmas in the Park

Earthquakes Hold No. 6 Overall Pick in SuperDraft

The San Jose Earthquakes will be sixth on the board when the 2012 MLS SuperDraft takes place in Kansas City on Jan. 12. The Earthquakes have picked within the top-six in nine previous MLS drafts. The club's last top-six pick was Ike Opara at No. 3 overall in 2010. San Jose has picked out of the No. 6 slot twice, selecting Luchi Gonzalez in 2002 and Todd Dunivant in 2003.
