This Week

The San Jose Earthquakes are in the Phoenix area until Saturday, Feb. 13 for a portion of their training camp, which includes two games against the Kansas City Wizards, the first on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. PT and the second at 10 a.m. PT on Saturday, Feb. 13. Later on Saturday, the Quakes will return home to the Bay Area to continue training.

Fresh Faces in Camp

Along with the returnees from last year, the following players are in camp with the team in Phoenix; draft picks Justin Morrow, Steve Beitashour, Andrew Hoxie and Ike Opara (who joins on Tuesday) Brazilian forward Eduardo, former USL standout Joey Gjertsen, and former Seattle Sounders FC defender Evan Brown and former Los Angeles Galaxy defender Troy Roberts.

San Jose Announces Preseason Schedule, and Will Hit London

After the trip in Phoenix wraps up, the Earthquakes will then return home to continue their preseason training from Monday, Feb. 15 through Wednesday, March 3. During that stretch, they will train and play some exhibition matches in the area. From Thursday, March 4 until Sunday, March 14 the Quakes will be in London, where they will train at club partner Tottenham Hotspur FC's training ground. The team will play a number of matches during that time period. The full schedule of games in London will be announced in the near future. Other preseason exhibition matches will also be announced in the near future.

Earthquakes Unveil 2010 Regular Season Schedule

The San Jose Earthquakes announced their 2010 Major League Soccer schedule today. The Quakes open the season at home on March 27 against the defending MLS Cup Champions, Real Salt Lake at Buck Shaw Stadium at 6 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel. All home games will be played at Buck Shaw Stadium in 2010. The Quakes play four of their first six matches at home to start the season. The Earthquakes enjoy a balanced schedule with no road trips or homestands longer than two games at a time. San Jose has many marquee home matchups on their schedule, including a visit from Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, July 31 and match-ups with their two biggest rivals, the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday, Aug. 21 and the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, Oct. 16. Johnson to Take on Argentina on Wednesday

Earthquakes forward Ryan Johnson and his Jamaican teammates will be traveling to and taking on arguably one of the best teams in the world in Argentina on Wednesday, Feb. 10. Jamaica just recently pulled out a 1-0 win over Canada and Johnson's Earthquakes teammate on Jan. 31. Johnson came on in the 71st minute to garner his second cap for his country.

Quakes Open Preseason With a Win Over Real San Jose

The San Jose Earthquakes defeated Real San Jose 3-0 on Saturday morning at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The Quakes had goals from Chris Wondolowski, Ismael Ibarra and Joey Gjertsen. The lineup was littered with fresh faces as rookies Justin Morrow, Steve Beitashour, Andrew Hoxie and last year's second round draft choice Brad Ring earned the start. The Earthquakes pressured Real San Jose early and often, finally breaking through in the 20th minute of play to take a 1-0 lead. Chris Wondolowski put away a rebound off of a Joey Gjertsen corner to put the Quakes in front. After Ismael Ibarra scored the second goal of the day, he was at it again, this time setting up the third Quakes goal as Gjertsen finished from the penalty area in traffic. The Earthquakes maintained their pressure the remainder of the match and made their 3-0 victory stand up, as Andrew Weber and Mike Graczyk shared the shutout.

Mexico-Bolivia Two-Pack

The San Jose Earthquakes are offering a two-pack for the upcoming friendly between Mexico and Bolivia, presented by Visa, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. PT. The special two-pack includes a ticket to the Mexico-Bolivia game and a ticket to the Earthquakes season opener against Real Salt Lake on March 27 at Buck Shaw Stadium and can be purchased for $30. To purchase the two-pack, fans should call 408-556-7700. The match is the first stop of the Mexican national team's 2010 U.S. Tour, which is in preparation for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Mexico will play in six cities between Feb. 24 and May 13.

Quakes to Aid in Haiti Relief Effort

The Earthquakes are making a donation to the Red Cross' Relief and Development Fund to support the recovery after the devastating earthquake on Jan. 12. To donate, log on to http://www.redcross.org/.

Quakes 2010 Season Tickets

The San Jose Earthquakes have significantly reduced season ticket prices for the 2010 Major League Soccer season. Season tickets start as low as $204. Season ticket prices have been reduced in all sections; Premier Midfield will now be $40 per game ($50 in 2009), Center Circle $30 per game ($35 in 2009), Sideline $20 per game ($30 in 2009), Goal View $15 per game ($20 in 2009) and Supporters Section $12 per game ($18 in 2009). The Quakes have also created a number of new features and benefits for season ticket holders next year. A family section has been added inside the stadium, and the Supporters Section has been expanded to create an even greater home field advantage. Season Ticket Holders will additionally have access to the exclusive tailgate parking lot. Corona Cove seats will now be available as a season ticket option, and an extra row of NetSuite VIP On-field seats will be added for next season. Season Ticket Holders will also have first priority to purchase Earthquakes playoff tickets and tickets for international games. They will receive a 15 percent discount on game day merchandise, invitations to exclusive events, and priority rights to seats in the new stadium. The one thing that is not exclusive to Season Ticket Holders is savings.
