San Jose Earthquakes News Release


The San Jose Earthquakes accumulated two points after consecutive 1-1 draws against Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday at Children's Mercy Park and Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday at PayPal Park. The pair of draws extends San Jose's unbeaten streak to four, with three of those matches being played on the road.

San Jose will now travel to Washington to face Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, July 31. Saturday's match from Lumen Field kicks off at 2 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area Plus, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.

San Jose extended their unbeaten streak to four matches. It marks the club's first unbeaten stretch of 4+ matches since July 2019.

The Quakes are now 9-14-4 all-time vs. Houston Dynamo FC. The Quakes also now hold a 3-1-2 record in their last six home matches against Houston.

Seattle Sounders FC currently occupies first in the Western Conference standings with a 9-2-5 overall record (32 points).

Streak Ended

Seattle had their regular-season unbeaten streak at Lumen Field come to an end at 14 matches following a 3-1 defeat to Sporting Kansas City on Sunday. Seattle Sounders are 1-2-0 in their last three matches, in which they also defeated Austin FC (1-0) and fell to Minnesota United FC (1-0).

Hostile Territory

Sunday's defeat marks Seattle's only loss at home in 2021. Seattle currently holds a record 5-1-3 at Lumen Field, outscoring opponents 17-9.
