
Earthquakes to Host Welcome Event for Ronald Cerritos at Sabor Salvadoreño in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Earthquakes will host a meet-and-greet event with Ronald Cerritos prior to his induction into the San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame. The event will take place at Salvadoran restaurant, Sabor Salvadoreño, on Park Avenue in San Jose on Tuesday, September 28 at 5:30 pm.
Cerritos, who played in San Jose from 1997-2001 and then returned to the club in 2005 for one season, will sign autographs, pose for photos and interact with fans. He will also be available for interviews.
Earthquakes radio broadcaster Carlos Cesar Rivera will broadcast his daily sports program, Deportes con Carlos Cesar Rivera, from the restaurant from 5-7 p.m. and interview Cerritos live from the event.
The Earthquakes announced on August 10 that the team will induct the club's all-time leader in goals scored and assists into the San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame on Wednesday, September 29th during a halftime ceremony at the Earthquakes game against the Chicago Fire at Buck Shaw Stadium. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. PT.
During his tenure with the San Jose, Cerritos scored 61 goals and notched 47 assists to lead the club all-time in both categories. Additionally, the Salvadoran international ranks 4th all-time in appearances (148), minutes played (12,382) and games started (142). He also helped lead the team to its first ever MLS Cup Championship in 2001.
Cerritos also spent time with the El Salvador National Team, earning 66 caps and scoring eight goals from 1995-2008.
