
Earthquakes to Celebrate 2001 MLS Cup Championship Team on October 23 vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC

SAN JOSE, Calif. - As part of the club's year-long celebration of the 2001 MLS Cup-winning team, the San Jose Earthquakes will host a reunion on Saturday, Oct. 23 during the match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The Quakes will celebrate the players, coaches and staff that brought the first MLS Cup championship to San Jose 20 years ago. Fans can purchase tickets for the match here.
The Quakes will distribute 10,000 commemorative replica championship rings before the match, giving fans their own piece of history. For images of the giveaway, click here.
At halftime, the Earthquakes will recognize more than 15 members of the 2001 championship team. Among those who are scheduled to be in attendance are goalkeeper Joe Cannon, defenders Jeff Agoos, Wade Barrett, Ramiro Corrales and Troy Dayak, midfielder Dwayne De Rosario, forward Ronaldo Cerritos, and coaches Frank Yallop and Dominic Kinnear, among many others.
The Earthquakes will also unveil a mural in honor of the 2001 championship team on Thursday night at Lux Bus America in San Jose, located at 560 Lincoln Ave.
San Jose's primary blue kit for the 2021 season, known as the First Star Kit, is a modern take on the team's threads 20 years ago.
