
Earthquakes Partner with Local Companies to Bring At-Risk Children to Match Against Kansas City

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes partnered with a number of local companies and individuals to bring at-risk children to the Earthquakes-Kansas City Wizards game this past Saturday, Aug. 22 at Buck Shaw Stadium for Kids Night Out.
The participating companies and individuals were Elder & Company, Brett & Company, MVP Arena, Footwear Etc., Air Systems Inc. Foundation, San Jose Councilwoman Nancy Pyle (District 10), John Muskivitch and Family, Thao Tran and Amato's Cheesesteaks. A number of full-season community partners have also helped bring out large youth groups during 2009, including Hewlett Packard, Soccer Silicon Valley, BAE Systems, Honda of Stevens Creek, MLS Camps, SoccerHype, and Soccer Pro.
Some of the beneficiaries of the donations for this game and other games this season have been Mexican American Community Services Agency (MACSA), Lulac, Adelante Dual Language Academy, Bill Wilson Center, National Hispanic University, Winchester Youth Soccer League, Catholic Charities, Boys and Girls Clubs, Alum Rock Community Center, Willow Soccer League, Alum Rock Youth Soccer League, KIPP Heartwood Academy and Santa Clara Unified School District.
The Earthquakes are committed to growing soccer at the grassroots level in Northern California. Through the partnerships with local companies, over 5,000 children will get the opportunity to see a soccer game in person this season.
