
Earthquakes Forward Yannick Djalo Named MLS Player of the Week

SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose Earthquakes forward Yannick Djalo was named MLS Player of the Week after scoring one goal and recording two assists in a 5-1 win against the Chicago Fire on July 23.
The award is Djalo's first of his career and the first for an Earthquakes player in 2014. Djalo scored San Jose's fourth goal, chipping his shot over Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson in the 79th minute. He also assisted on Shea Salinas' game-opening goal and started the sequence to Cordell Cato's game-capping goal in the 84th minute.
Djalo joined San Jose on loan from Portugal's SL Benfica on March 10, 2014. He has two goals and two assists in 12 games played so far this season.
