Washington, D.C. (July 29, 2014) - D.C. United has announced that the team has acquired defender Kofi Opare from the Los Angeles Galaxy, and in exchange the two teams will trade allocation rankings. Additionally, the club will also receive the Galaxy's 2015 second round draft pick.

"We are pleased to have acquired a smart, young defender in Kofi who has a very big upside, as well as securing a 2015 second round Superdraft pick," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper.
