
Earthquakes Forward Danny Hoesen Obtains U.S. Green Card

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that forward Danny Hoesen has obtained a U.S. Green Card and no longer occupies an international slot on the club's roster. The Green Card drops the Quakes from eight international players to seven.
Hoesen, 28, originally joined the Quakes on loan from Dutch side FC Groningen before being acquired on a permanent transfer in December of 2017. Hoesen has made 49 starts in 66 appearances for the Quakes, tallying 17 goals and nine assists. His 2018 season highlights include being selected to the MLS Team of the Week twice and being named MLS Player of the Week once. Hoesen also scored a team-high 12 goals, earning him the Quakes' MVP award.
San Jose currently has seven international players under contract for 2019: goalkeeper Daniel Vega; defenders Guram Kashia, Harold Cummings and Marcos Lopez; midfielders Magnus Eriksson and Judson; and forward Cristian Espinoza.
