San Jose Earthquakes News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The San Jose Earthquakes lost a hard-fought match to FC Dallas 1-0 on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium.
The best chance for either team in the first half came in the 22nd minute. After collecting the ball inside the 18-yard box, FC Dallas forward Blas Perez slotted his low shot past Quakes keeper David Bingham, but defender Paulo Renato, making his first-career MLS start, was there to clear the ball off the goal line and keep the game scoreless.
After a handful of chances for both teams in the second half, FC Dallas broke the deadlock in the 92nd minute, when a shot by Moises Hernandez from the top of the penalty area was redirected by the head of Blas Perez and into the net.
The Earthquakes next match will be against Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. PT at CenturyLink Field.
