Match Preview: Red Bulls Head to Kansas City for 2015 Opener

HARRISON, NJ (March 7, 2015) - The New York Red Bulls travel to Kansas City to kick off the 2015 MLS campaign against Sporting KC tomorrow at Sporting Park. First kick is set for 7:00 p.m. ET (TV: Fox Sports 1, Fox Deportes).

The Red Bulls defeated SKC on the final day of the 2014 season, 2-0, at Sporting Park to earn home-field advantage in the knockout round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Days later, New York used two goals from 2014 MLS Golden Boot winner Bradley Wright-Phillips to come from behind and defeat SKC, 2-1, at Red Bull Arena.

Head coach Jesse Marsch and his freshly-minted captain, Dax McCarty, lead a core group of Red Bulls veterans and key offseason acquisitions into Kansas City. U.S. international Sacha Kljestan and Brazilian midfielder Felipe join Wright-Phillips, McCarty, and Lloyd Sam up front, while veteran goalkeeper Luis Robles and left back Roy Miller guide a new-look defense.

The Red Bulls return to Red Bull Arena to kick off the home schedule on Sunday, March 22 against Atlantic Cup rival D.C. United at 5:00 p.m.
