BUFFALO, NY -- Periodic rain did not dampen the Indianapolis Indians offense on Monday evening as the Tribe emerged victorious in their series opener with the Buffalo Bisons, 8-4. Brent Morel delivered four hits, including a two-run double, to help lead the offensive charge for the Indians.

Tony Sanchez put the Indians on the board in the top of the first inning with a two-out, two-run single. Morel doubled home a pair of runs in the third with a liner into the left-center field gap.

Four runs came across in the top of the third inning, just one run shy of the season-high that Indianapolis has achieved on three occasions. A.J. Morris (3-0) worked two scoreless innings after the rain delay and received the win, while Deolis Guerra registered three shutout frames to earn his second save of the season.

The Tribe offense scored all eight of their runs in the first three innings, and the game was delayed 38 minutes by rain before the start of the bottom of the fifth. Indianapolis (26-19) has now won three of the first four games on the current six-game road trip. It was their first matchup of the season with Buffalo (23-22).
