Early Offense Powers Series-Opening Win in Harrisburg

The Somerset Patriots defeated the Harrisburg Senators by a score of 5-2 at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, New Jersey on Tuesday night.

The win improves the Patriots to 4-0 in series-opening games this season.

The Patriots also won their third of four games against Harrisburg this season.

Somerset's streak of 15 straight games with a stolen base to start the season came to an end.

RHP Blane Abeyta (6.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 5 BB, 2 K) started for the Patriots and earned his first Double-A win, coming in his third start of the season for the Patriots.

Abeyta's first Double-A win comes one game after Blas Castano earned his first Double-A win.

LHP Michael Giacone (2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, BB, 3 K) earned his first hold of the season with two hitless innings.

RHP Justin Wilson (1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K) earned his first Double-A save with a perfect ninth inning.

CF Jasson Dominguez (2-for-4, 3 RBI, R, HR, 2B) smashed his second home run of the season in the first inning, bringing home four runs over the game's first two innings.

1B T.J. Rumfield (1-for-4, RBI, R, HR, K) hit his second home run of the season to continue the Patriots' scoring in the second inning.

C Carlos Narvaez (2-for-3, R, 2 2B) hit two doubles in the game, both off the starter Rutledge. His four doubles on the season now lead the Patriots.
