Frisco RoughRiders News Release

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - The Frisco RoughRiders posted a wire-to-wire victory on Saturday, beating the Arkansas Travelers, 7-2, at Dickey-Stephens Park.

Tekoah Roby (2-3) kept the Travelers (27-17) scoreless into the sixth inning before allowing one run. Roby struck out the next batter to finish his night. The 21-year-old struck out eight to tie a season high, allowing five hits and one walk. He has allowed just three earned runs in his last three starts with a 1.65 ERA in that span.

Frisco (20-23) put the first three batters of the game aboard with Evan Carter's single on the first pitch of the game, Thomas Saggese's walk and Aaron Zavala's RBI single. That was the only run of the game until the RoughRiders scored five times in the fifth inning.

Saggese, Zavala, Trevor Hauver and Scott Kapers all had two hits in the game. Hauver's two hits were both doubles, including a two-RBI liner in the fifth. Kapers added two RBIs of his own on the very next pitch.

Kyle Tyler (1-4) lasted 4.1 innings for Arkansas and was charged with four earned runs.

The Frisco bullpen was not taxed too much on Saturday, using just two pitchers. Michael Brewer took care of two innings, allowing one run, and Hever Bueno logged a scoreless ninth.

Frisco has now won three of five games in North Little Rock and could be just the second team to defeat Arkansas in a series this year. The RoughRiders are now 7-4 in the last two series.

The final game of the six-game series will begin at 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, May 28 with RHP Jack Leiter (2-2, 4.17 ERA) taking the hill for Frisco. Arkansas will put RHP Bryan Woo (2-2, 2.08 ERA) on the hill.

Frisco's next home game is Tuesday, May 30 at 6:35 p.m. against the San Antonio Missions. Get your tickets now at RidersBaseball.com or call 972.731.9200.
