BOWIE, Md. - Seth Beer and Jackson Glenn each knocked their first home runs of the season on Thursday night as the Curve snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-6 win over the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium.

Altoona took the lead in the first inning off Bowie starter Alex Pham on an Abrahan Gutierrez RBI double to score Joe Perez, who reached on a walk. Pham would surrender a solo shot to Beer in the second inning before Tres Gonzalez followed with a single and Mike Jarvis with a double. Tsung-Che Cheng then singled home a run before Perez lifted a sacrifice fly to make it a 4-0 game.

Glenn would keep the offense going for the Curve in the third with a two-run shot off Pham to make it 6-0. A much-needed insurance run came for the Curve in the sixth inning on an RBI-single from Gonzalez.

Bubba Chandler took the ball for Altoona and struck out five batters in 5.0 innings of work, allowing two runs on six hits. Chandler is the first Curve pitcher to last five innings in a start this season. The two runs allowed by Chandler came on a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the third inning.

The Baysox would tack on four unanswered runs off the Curve bullpen to bring the game within a run in the ninth. Anthony Servideo homered in the seventh off Valentin Linarez, who tossed two innings allowing the lone run.

Cam Junker entered to open the eighth inning but allowed a single and walked three batters without recording an out before Isaac Mattson entered. Mattson allowed one inherited run to score before Gutierrez threw out Donta' Williams stealing to end the inning.

In the ninth, Mattson allowed a double to Jud Fabian and an RBI single to Billy Cook to put the game-winning run at the plate when Frederick Bencosme lined out to Glenn at third. It was Mattson's first save of the season.

Altoona continues its six-game series with Bowie on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Kyle Brnovich will take the mound for the Baysox with RHP Sean Sullivan set to start for the Curve.
