August 21, 2019 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT, WI - Beloit started strong, but could not finish the game falling to Kane County 9-8 in the series opener at Pohlman Field. Beloit knocked in 7 runs within the first two innings, but unfortunately, it was not enough in the losing effort.
Beloit would jump out to that aforementioned lead in the first two innings by a score of 7-1.
Beloit would plate 3 runs in the first and 4 in the second to give them the early advantage and cushion this evening.
In the first, Beloit would get started with runners on first and second with no outs. Moments later, Nick Osborne would smack a double to plate Max Schuemann and even the score up at one apiece, but Beloit was not done.
Now with a runner on third after a wild pitch to score Devin Foyle, Skyler Weber would hit a sacrifice fly to score Osborne and give the Snappers the 3-1 lead. The Snappers were not going to just be content with that 3 run lead though carrying the bats over into the second.
In the second, after the first 3 men of the inning reached, Max Schuemann would lace a single up the middle to score 2 and extend the lead now to 5-1. After a wild pitch plated another run, Nick Osborne would groundout to score one more and give the Snappers the 7-1 lead after 2 complete.
However, the lead would not be enough tonight, as Kane County would continue to chip away all game eventually tying the game at 8 in the eighth and taking the lead there shortly after to win 9- 8 in the first game of the series.
Beloit will be back in action tomorrow when they take on the very same Kane County Cougars at Pohlman Field. First Pitch is at 6:30 and there is only 5 more home game left on the 2019 Beloit Snappers schedule this season.
