Ottawa 67's News Release
After scoring the game's first goal within 30 seconds of the puck drop, our Ottawa 67's couldn't keep it going as the Kingston Frontenacs scored two goals in the following two minutes. Try as they might, our Ottawa 67's just couldn't win back the lead, leaving us with a final score of 3-1.
Who let the dogs out?! Last night marked our 3rd annual Weiner Dog Race, a.k.a. Dashing Daschunds on Ice. It definitely had fans glued to their seats during the second intermission. The race found some 35 wiener dogs running across the ice - photographed above. Congratulations to our winner; George, and our runner up Bella.
Speaking of running down the ice, the first intermission found two of Ottawa 67's fans doing just that, in the Human Hamster Ball Race. The two contestants raced up and down the ice in hermetically sealed plastic balls (photographed below). An early lead was evident but in the last leg of the contest the competition evened out, and the referee had no choice but to call it a tie. Isn't it great when everyone can leave a winner!
Fans were asked to show their support in one the oldest and favorite traditions of any sporting event. The Signature Vacations Wave was a roaring success getting all our Ottawa 67's fans out of their seats to show our team just how excited we were to be there.
The boys are on the road next weekend, so fans will have to wait until Friday, October 23 to see them take on the Mississauga St. Micheal's Majors. We'll be there too, writing from the stands!
