SYDNEY- The Cape Breton Eagles have selected 2003 born Russian forward Mikhail Nizovkin with the 44th choice in the 2020 CHL Import Draft.
The 5'10, 163 pound forward played the 2019-20 season with the Vityaz Podolsk program in Russia. He notched 44 points in 25 games at the Under 17 level and 34 points in 12 games playing with the Under 18 team.
The Eagles passed on the 104th selection, as Czech forward Ivan Ivan has indicated he wants to return for a second QMJHL season with Cape Breton.
The 2019-20 QMJHL season is tentatively scheduled to begin on October 1st.
