Halifax would draw the first man advantage of the game, and after a pair of coincidental minors had plenty of ice to work with as most of the the man advantage was contested 4 on 3. The 4 on 3 portion of the penalty was killed when Félix Lafrance came in on a short handed breakaway to double the Eagles lead.

Just after the two minute mark, Cole Stewart would score for the home side as his shot on Kevin Mandolese took multiple bounces to beat the Eagles net minder. 11 seconds later though, the three goal lead would return, as Element tipped a Bouchard shot by Alexis Gravel. The last goal of the second period would come off the stick of Nathan Larose, a point shot through traffic that came on the opening stages of a power play.

In full control of the game already, the only goals in the third period would go the way of the visitors. The Eagles scored twice in the sixth minute of play.
