WINDSOR, CO - The Colorado Eagles added three developmental players to the roster with the re-signing of defenseman Jason Lundmark and forward Steve Haddon and the signing of rookie goaltender Stephan Siwiec.
Lundmark, 21, returns following his first professional season where he played in 63 of 64 regular season games. During the 2005-06 regular-season, Lundmark scored seven goals, and added eight assists in his rookie year. The 5'11", 200-pound blue-liner finished second on the team in plus/minus with a plus-22. Lundmark, who hails from Edmonton, Alberta played 100 games over three seasons in the Western Hockey League as a junior player and tallied 34 points and 104 PIM'S in that time. His best season as a Junior came in Tier II during the 2004-05 campaign with the Spruce Grove Saints in which Lundmark had 51 points in 62 games and was a first team All-Star while being nominated for the AJHL Defenseman of the Year.
Haddon, also 21, was added to the Eagles roster for the 2006 CHL Playoffs as an amateur and appeared in three games during the post-season. Steve Haddon, from Sarnia, Ontario was added to the Eagles roster prior to the 2006 Playoffs. He made his debut during game four of the opening round series against the Oklahoma City Blazers. Haddon played in a total of three games for the Eagles during the playoffs, including game five at the Budweiser Events Center. The 6'1", 190-pound forward came to the Eagles after a short stop at the University of Manitoba where he scored seven goals and added six assists in 19 games. Before his stint at the university, Haddon went to the Royal Bank Cup Finals in the MJHL with the Portage Terriers. That season he led his team in scoring (36-44-80) and was the 2004-05 MJHL League and Playoff MVP.
"Haddon and Lundmark are two solid young players," said Eagles Head Coach Chris Stewart. "We look for the two of them to make a big impact this season."
Siwiec, 23, played four seasons at Boston University where he served primarily as a backup goaltender. The 6'1", 197-pound netminder played in 22 games in his career posting an 8-5-3 record and a 2.95 goals-against average. Prior to Boston College, Siwiec graduated from the National Sport School in Calgary, but played his hockey in the Alberta Midget and Alberta Junior Hockey Leagues. He is the second goaltender signed by the Eagles for the upcoming season along with Jeff Blair.
"Two of my scouts feel Stephan is a lock here and will vie for the number one starting job as goaltender for the Eagles," exclaimed Stewart.
