
Eagles Make Trade for Brent Hughes

WINDSOR, CO- Colorado Eagles Vice President and Head Coach Chris Stewart announced today that the Eagles and Amarillo Gorillas have made a trade that will send right wing Brent Hughes to the Eagles for future considerations.
Hughes, a 5'7", 170-pound right wing has played his entire professional career in the Central Hockey League. He joined the Austin Ice Bats in the 2003 playing 10 games and advancing to the CHL Finals before bowing out to the Memphis RiverKings. He played his first season in Austin the following year leading the team with 23 goals as a rookie. Hughes has played in Amarillo for the past three seasons in which he has 35 goals and 61 assists in 136 games played. Prior to being traded to the Eagles, he had five goals and 12 assists in 20 games this season.
"Brent is a point a game player that will add more speed and grit to our lineup," said Eagles Head Coach Chris Stewart.

The Eagles are currently in first place in the Central Hockey League at the halfway point of the season with a record of 27-5-0.
