
Eagles Hang On In Cape Breton

The Wildcats again outshot the Eagles in Sydney but Cape Breton held off the Wildcats to post a 5-3 win at Center 200 in Sunday afternoon action.
Moncton directed 36 shots at Nicolas Ruccia but trailed 3-0 at one point. Charles Beaudoin, with his 8th and Gabe Smith, with his first goal of the season, pulled the Cats to within one.
Both teams then traded goals before Olivier Houde found the empty net for the Cape, on the powerplay, late in the third. Alexis Daniel had the other Cats goal.
The Wildcats had won two straight entering yesterday's game and the Eagles have now won all three meetings this season.

The loss drops Moncton's record to 14-12-0-2 with three games this week before the Christmas break. The Cats visit the Mooseheads Wednesday night at Scotiabank Centre, then launch into a home-and-home with the Titan - Friday at 7 pm at the Avenir Centre for a 'Christmas Fan Apprecistion Night' and a rematch at the KC Irving Centre Saturday at 4 pm.
