Sea Dogs Week Preview: Final Games Before the Holiday Break
Published on December 12, 2022 under Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Saint John Sea Dogs News Release
The Sea Dogs played in three games this week, beating the Armada and sweeping the season series, and dropping their games on Friday and Sunday to Moncton and Bathurst.
Wednesday, a perfect performance by the penalty kill and 33 saves by Nikolas Hurtubise lifted the Sea Dogs past the Armada in a 2-1 win with goals from Connor Trenholm and Vincent Despont.
Friday, Brady Burns sent the teddy bears flying with the Sea Dogs first goal of the night and change bandits collected $1,200 for Romero House. A surge of goals in the late second period from Danny Akkouche, his first in the QMJHL, Cam MacDonald, Eriks Mateiko, and a goal from Alexis Cournoyer in the third were not enough to overcome the deficit from the first period and the Sea Dogs fell 8-5.
Sunday, the Sea Dogs hosted the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for a 3 PM family day start time presented by Woodchucks Axe Throwing and Top Shots Golf. The Sea Dogs scored 4 goals and Shingarov made 40 stops, but a four goal performance by Titan Ben Allison led the way for Bathurst as they won 7-4.
Upcoming Games
The Sea Dogs will be taking on the Eagles three times to close out play before the holiday break, first heading on the road to play in Cape Breton on Wednesday. The two teams have met twice already, with each team taking a win in November.
Puck drop for Wednesday's game is at 7 PM and you can listen to the game with Sea Dogs Radio presented by TD at CFBC 930 AM or watch at watch.chl.ca.
Friday, play returns to TD Station at 7 PM as the Sea Dogs host the Eagles for back to back meetings on the 16th and 17th. Saturday December 17th Santa is visiting TD Station and will be at Sea Dogs Central for free photos during the intermissions!
Tickets for both games are available at the TD Station Box Office and online.
New Year's Eve is right around the corner! Make sure to grab your tickets to spend the afternoon with the Sea Dogs and Wannabe: A Spice Girls Tribute, who will be performing during both intermissions.
A special 2 PM start time on December 31st means you can Spice Up Your Game with the whole family before your New Year's Eve Party! Start the celebrations early with the Sea Dogs.
