Eagles Edge Wranglers 3-2 in First Preseason Game

Las Vegas - The Colorado Eagles edged the Las Vegas Wranglers 3-2 tonight in the first 2013-14 preseason game between the two teams.

A scoreless first period saw the Wranglers narrowly lead the Eagles 7-6 in shots. The 0-0 score held until 7:27 into the second, when Wranglers left wing Adam Huxley scored to put Vegas on the board. Less than two minutes later, Colorado responded with a goal from forward Teegan Moore, and the team took a 2-1 lead over the Wranglers when Eagles right wing Luke Fulghum posted a goal moments later.

Seven minutes into the third, Wranglers center Chris Francis evened the game on a 3-on-1 breakaway. The 2-2 tie was short-lived as Eagles defenseman Dylan Hood found the back of the Wranglers net to regain the one-goal lead. Colorado kept the 3-2 advantage for the remainder of the third, securing the win over the Wranglers.

The Wranglers and Eagles meet for a rematch tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m., followed by a final road preseason game against the Ontario Reign on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Wranglers finish the preseason at home on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2:05 p.m. against the Reign.
