Saturday evening's forecast calls for sunny skies and a temperature near 75 degrees at kickoff.

Fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to donate at all stadium gates as part of a canned food drive, presented by Kroger, benefiting Houston Food Bank.

Additionally, fans are encouraged to arrive early as BBVA Compass Stadium will introduce league-wide security measures for the first time. The new policy requires all fans entering the stadium to be scanned with a handheld metal detector. The new procedures also include new requirements for bags.

Special Olympics soccer teams affiliated with the Houston Dynamo and Sporting KC will be recognized at halftime. The Dynamo Unified Team will face the Sporting KC Unified Team at 10 a.m. Sunday at BBVA Compass Stadium. The match is the first of its kind between the teams and is free to the public.

Game Notes

Tomorrow is the 21st meeting in all competitions between Houston and Sporting Kansas City since the 2011 season. The former Eastern Conference rivals met in the postseason three straight years from 2011-13 and the Dynamo advanced in 2011 and 2012 before Sporting KC gained the upper hand in 2013. Sporting KC snapped Houston's MLS record 36-game home undefeated streak with a 1-0 win at BBVA Compass Stadium on May 12, 2013.

Former Dynamo captain Brad Davis will face the Dynamo for the first time tomorrow after he joined Sporting KC in January after 10 seasons with the Dynamo. Davis is Houston's all-time leader in games (328), assists (120), starts (302) and minutes (25,985 in all competitions).

Sporting Kansas City opened the season with three straight wins but is 1-4-2 in its last seven games. Sporting KC reached the MLS Cup Playoffs in each of the last five seasons and won the 2013 MLS Cup. The core of last year's team remains, including forward Dom Dwyer, who has 38 goals in 73 games since the start of the 2014 season. Midfielder Benny Feilhaber was nominated for MLS MVP and earned Best XI honors after recording 12 goals and a club-record 20 assists in all competitions last season. U.S. national team defender Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi remain key parts of manager Peter Vermes' team.

The Dynamo return home on Saturday, May 14 to face Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. CDT. For tickets for every Dynamo home match, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com or call 713-276-GOAL. In between the two weekend matches, Houston travels to San Jose for its first midweek game of the season. The Dynamo meet the Earthquakes at 9:30 p.m. CDT on Wednesday at Avaya Stadium.
