Dynamo announce 2009 promotional calendar

HOUSTON, TX (Friday, March 6, 2009) - The Houston Dynamo have set their 2009 MLS promotional calendar, it was announced today. Bobbleheads, soccer balls, beach towels, replica style jerseys, and scarves will be among the items given away to the Dynamo faithful at Robertson Stadium this year.

The giveaways will start with Major League Soccer opening night on Saturday, March 21, when the Dynamo face the Columbus Crew. The first 7,500 fans to walk through the gates will receive Dynamo player calendars to highlight Dynamo games and events throughout the year.

On Saturday, April 11, the Dynamo will be hosting Orange U-Nite, sponsored by Continental Airlines. All fans are asked to arrive wearing orange to show their support for the Dynamo, and fans will be given orange Dynamo T-shirts as they enter the stadium for the game against the New York Red Bulls.

To celebrate the end of the school year, the Dynamo are inviting students to the Microsoft Xbox School's Out Celebration on Saturday, May 23 when the Dynamo face the San Jose Earthquakes. The Dynamo will be handing out lunch boxes, sponsored by radio partners 790 The Sports Animal and 850 La Ranchera, and an Xbox giveaway to all students coming to the game.

Wednesday, June 10, will kick off the Dynamo's Summer Savings series. Three consecutive summer home games will include $10 ticket offers and will offer fans the chance to collect a complete set of collectible art pieces. The Summer Savings series includes games on June 10 (Chivas USA, presented by The Home Depot); June 20 (Real Salt Lake, presented by StatoilHydro); and July 25 (New England Revolution, presented by AT&T).

Other major giveaways include a a special edition bobblehead, presented by Houston Area Chevrolet Dealers, for the August 9 match against the Chicago Fire, and a Kids' Night soccer ball, courtesy of StatoilHydro, for the August 23 match against Seattle.

Fans will receive one of the most popular giveaway items, a 2009 Dynamo scarf, for the October 4 game against Kansas City as part of The Methodist Hospital System's sponsorship of Community Day. The regular season home schedule concludes against the Los Angeles Galaxy on Sunday, October 18 with Fan Appreciation Night, sponsored by Amigo Energy. Fans will be receive Dynamo replica style jerseys on entering the stadium.
