Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. - Duvin Design Co., the internet's go-to beach brand, and Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer are pleased to unveil an exciting collaboration, titled "Rain or Shine ." The collection marks Duvin's first collab with a professional sports team, and a natural one at that - Duvin's headquarters are just minutes from Orlando City's home venue, Exploria Stadium, and the sports-loving Orlando-bred founders of the brand have been longtime supporters of the beloved MLS team. Available starting April 29th exclusively on DuvinDesign.com, in Exploria Stadium, and on OCMobileShop.com, the capsule showcases the unique Floridian sunsets of the Orlando area with lakes, palm trees, and good times tied in via an eye-catching, five-piece collection that sees the Duvin aesthetic move onto the soccer pitch.
The collection highlights Duvin's signature bold colors, prints, and vibrant, locally-infused design inspired by Orlando City's Sunshine Kit. Orlando City's secondary jersey draws from a gradient-sunset skyline that is seen from the stadium, replicating the sultry colors of warm evenings in the balmy city. Bringing together key elements of the laid-back Florida lifestyle, the "Rain or Shine" collection combines Duvin's signature sauce with Orlando City's ascension onto the MLS scene.
The unisex capsule features an eye-catching cabana set with a button-up shirt and swim trunks, a bucket hat, crewneck sweatshirt, and a tee - each rendered in Duvin's celebrated soft materials. The vibrant colorways recall the best of OCSC, pulling in a spectrum of colors ranging from pale yellow to deep purple into black. The cabana set features the gradient horizontally on the button-up with abstract black palm trees superimposed atop, while the shorts showcase a vertically-oriented gradient from dark at top, to light on bottom, punctuated with a black band featuring the Orlando City name. The black crewneck and tee provide a base for the "Rain or Shine" graphic to pop, and the bucket hat ties the entire offering together by capping off the look.
"Collaborating with a renowned brand like Duvin that was born and built right here in Central Florida has been perfect for us. We know this is one fans will be excited about," said Orlando City Director of Merchandise Michelle Serowchak. "From the bold and vibrant colors, to the connection with our Sunshine Kit and everything in between, the entire collection is a celebration of life in the Sunshine State and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out."
Orlando City SC emerged in MLS in 2015 as the 21st franchise, an expansion side from the USL Pro team that had preceded it. The Club's home, Exploria Stadium in downtown Orlando, plays host to what was the first MLS team in Florida since 2001. Having made it to the second round of the playoffs in 2021, hopes are high for continued success and growth for the Club in the coming years.
Duvin's mission is to continuously drive their design philosophy forward while having fun through every step of the process - and that continues within the Orlando City SC collection. Trends come and go, but in the end, a few main concepts have carried the brand through some remarkable growth. Pastels and bright colors are repeatedly implemented in unexpected combinations, connected to large patterns and prints reminiscent of Florida's saturated hues and colorful architecture. The fabrics are super soft and breathable, complemented by effortless fits that seamlessly integrate into the outdoor Florida lifestyle - easily transitioning from sunny mornings to mild evenings.
"It's a dream come true to work with Orlando City. To imagine having started Duvin selling tees out of our cars to working with a major professional sports franchise like Orlando City SC - especially being born and bred in Orlando - it just feels incredible. Their gradients were a natural fit for us, and we're excited to see them at the stadium," says Austin Duvall, Creative Director of Duvin Design.
Duvin is sold in over 130 retailers across 10 countries and is worn by athletes and celebrities from all walks of life. The brand has a growing clientele including creatives, surfers, musicians, skaters, party starters and fashion enthusiasts alike. What started as product based in surf culture has evolved into a fashion brand that caters to anyone looking to have a good time enjoying the sun either pitch side or poolside.
The Duvin x Orlando City SC collection ranges in price from $15 - $80 and is available for purchase starting at 12pm ET on April 29, 2022.
