Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (13-20, 32-39) dropped an extra innings affair on Wednesday night 3-2 to the Eugene Emeralds (24-9, 52-19). The 12-inning game took over four hours, making it the longest game of the season for Tri-City.
After trailing by two runs since the bottom of the first inning, the Dust Devils rallied to tie the game in the top of the ninth inning. Tri-City was helped in the comeback by a pair of Eugene errors in the inning. The Dust Devils were able to get a base hit in both the tenth and eleventh innings, but were unable to bring home a run.
A sacrifice fly from Yeiler Peguero allowed Jose Gonzalez to score the game's winning run to complete the walk-off win for the Emeralds. Tyler Moore delivered at the plate for Tri-City. The Dust Devils' leadoff hitter had three of the team's five hits.
Right-hander Adrian De Horta will start the fourth game of the five-game series on tonight, while Eugene will counter with right-hander Pedro Silverio. Tri-City will return home for the final series of the season starting Saturday. There will be a Post-Game Fireworks Show that night presented by McCurley Integrity Dealerships. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
