Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
A comeback was not in the cards for the Tri-City Dust Devils (5-5, 23-25) on Thursday as the team lost 6-4 to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (5-5, 25-23). The Volcanoes broke the tie in the top of the eighth inning and kept the lead the rest of the game.
Tri-City starter Angel Acevedo delivered another solid performance for the Dust Devils. Acevedo got the no-decision after allowing four runs, two of them earned, in seven innings of work. Salem-Keizer scored what became the winning run in an unusual way. Aaron Bond hit an inside-the-park home run for the Volcanoes in the eighth inning to give them a lead that they would not relinquish.
Northwest League All-Star Henry Henry will start the middle game of the five-game series on Friday night. Salem-Keizer will counter with left-hander Seth Corry. It will be Scout Night presented by Big 5 Sporting Goods and a CO-Energy $1 Family Feast Night. Tickets are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
